I don’t know if I can keep up with the facial and skin masks out there – it’s kind f overwhelming! That said, I tend – no matter the hype and hullabaloo – to dismiss sheet masks because I just don’t have the wherewithal to lie down for 20 minutes with a sheet on my face! Not my thing. Cream masks, however, I can handle.
This newbie – Dr. Brandt Skincare’s MAGNETIGHT Age-Defier – is designed to age-defy with the power of “attraction.” Yep, that’s what it says. The formula is made with iron, whose magnetic properties help to (so they say) “reduce signs of aging skin and reduce the appearance of stressed skin.” Hmm.
The mask has all skin types in mind, but especially those looking to target fine lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness and elasticity, and dulness and uneven texture. I feel like I could use help – current AND proactive – in those departments, but I’m not sure the description satisfies my need to hear more about how it actually works. Curious to hear reviews…
Interested in masks? Or this one?!
Thrilled to see this product! Why? You have a favorite lippie and the brand hasn’t jumped on the matte train…but you want to try the trend! 🙂
Smashbox’s Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer is an easy-to-use gel that takes your pout from satin or shine to matte and velvety. Instantly.
While it isn’t necessarily the first of its kind, it is a wonderful tool for anyone wanting to try something new, or alter texture for whatever reason. This particular item was created to minimize the number of lipsticks Smashbox’s pro makeup artists had to haul around (double the products, or a tube of gel!? Hmmm…) The formula is non-chalky, and also improves the wear of your lip product without feathering.
Check out the video on Sephora.com for more details. 🙂
MAC lines up the launches like nobody’s business! In January, (11th) 2016, the company will be launching Retro Matte Lipcolors. Having been exposed to the Hot Rod arena for some years, I have a TON of friends this reminds me of – the scene is saturated with gorgeous pinup gals, and dapper dandies. The Retro Matte Collection definitely has that vintage flavor (the ad image with pea green playing cards and oversized sunglass frames help!)
For those who prefer timeless glamour to all-out flash, matte reigns supreme. M∙A∙C has created an innovation on this classic texture with 15 robustly saturated shades of Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour. Whether you choose the intense fire truck red of Fashion Legacy, the vivid fuchsia of Tailored to Tease or the tantalizing nude of Lady-Be-Good, all these lipcolours promise one thing: a big splash of colour in a liquid-suede finish that transforms lips instantly and lingers, impossible to forget.
The product will sell for $20.00 (USA) and will include the following colors:
- Fashion Legacy Intense fire truck red
- Feels So Grand Deep true red
- High Drama Deep dark plum
- Dance With Me Deep cranberry red
- Lady-Be-Good Warm mid-tone nude
- Tailored to Tease Bright fuchsia
- Oh, Lady Deep wine
- Recollection Intense bright violet
- Quite the Standout Bright orange-red
- To Matte with Love Bright raspberry
- Personal Statement Shocking pink
- Divine-Divine Light creamy pink
- Mademoiselle Bright creamy coral
- Back in Vogue Peachy nude
- Rich & Restless Mid-tone pinky salmon
The colors look bright in the photo, and it does indicated “saturated,” so I’m curious to see swatches. Loving the nude, peachy tones!
This red-to-primarily-pink ombre is to die for. Now I know it won’t be out on the street necessarily, nor in a boardroom, nor office meeting… If it was, at least, in the latter two settings, there would be either beauty experts, fashion professionals, or performers involved!
When I was young, the pouring over fashion publications was done specifically because of this kind of imagery – it’s artwork. It is its own kind of outrageous. It’s bright, uplifting in color, expertly applied – makeup artistry takes a whole other level of skill and creativity, and I always appreciated that.
For me, the combination of colors, textures and finishes was utterly captivating – I couldn’t say why, beyond that it appeals to my very-visual way of assimilating information. But I loved it, and loved photography – composition, light and shadow play….all of it.
So here is this image, just floating in the ether… But it’s one striking enough to stop me so I stare for a moment and think “now that is divine!”
From the bordered-spray-paint quality, to the patent-leather gloss…to the faded, ghosted edge, I absolutely LOVE this photo. 🙂
As you may have seen, Sephora and Pantone have collectively announced the new Color(s) Of The Year – Rose Quartz and Serenity will be offered in a range of finishes beginning in December for a limited time.
The colors read height of Spring to me, but then one could always go for the wintery-pastel-snow-bunny look too! It is always okay to lighten the mood, as far as I am concerned, and these two hues are about as bright and happy as they get!
THE EYE PALETTE
The shades in this exclusive 15-shade pan palette are all about pleasing the eye. The shimmer and matte formulas are infused with Vitamin E to nurture lids, while the pastel and bright hues can be worn together in a variety of ways to create a visual masterpiece.
THE LIP GLOSS
In line with its rule-breaking mantra, the six pastel hues in this lip gloss set are anything but understated. A swipe of the melt-on-your-mouth formula instantly delivers rich color and a dose of conditioning hydration. Your lips will look contemporary, smooth, and unexpected.
In 2016, sweet hues take on a bold attitude and these matte lipsticks deliver the drama with full-color payoff. Swipe on the velvety matte texture in Rose Quartz for a femme look that’s not afraid of being unconventional.
While this lipstick comes in the same texture and finish as Rose Quartz, this version of the lipstick is even more daring, yet delicate thanks to its Serenity hue. Color it on your lips for a futuristic effect that wows the present.
I am looking forward to seeing swatches (curious about pigmentation!) but I think these hues are such fun. I also LOVE the ombre packaging – I’m not quite girlie-girl, and I rarely wear such pale shades…but it doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the colors of a morning May sky… Spring baby, after all! 🙂
I came across @beauty_by_elley‘s page and I have to say…her silvery locks look amazing!
This isn’t an easy look to pull off, though I am sure her young hair is healthy and soft to allow for the overall effect (naturally grey hair has a coarser and sometimes wiry texture, making it an entirely different animal to tackle!)
Anyway, I think she looks awesome!
