Yes, indeed, May 22nd…World Goth Day! ❤ May you shine in your blackness!
Ever building on the Touche Eclat empire, YSL will be launching the coveted glow-getting formula in a new format for Spring 2017. Yep, you guessed it…a cushion. LE Cushion, to be exact. 😉 The product will be offered in 7 shades designed to enhance radiance with natural coverage.
In addition to that exciting news, the Company is also brining in three Touch Eclat Glow Shots, a highlighter boasting the hefty promise of a 10-hour strobe effect AND ultra hydration, via hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and Ruscus. Glow Shots will come in 3 shades:
And…one more dashing add…the YSL Touche Eclat White, Limited Edition. I’m already chomping at the bit for this one because a “porcelain effect” is like music to my goth-y ears… It can be used for adding a beautiful sheen, or for more extreme strobe and contour effects.
Some fun little lip scrub pots (definitely hitting the mainstream these days, by the way) are coming from MAC for Spring 2017. . .
The Scrumptious collection features five lip scrubs, each with a different (rather fabulously-vibrant!) hue and flavor. Per the Company:
“Pucker up to totally smooth lips with MAC Lip Scrubtious. This new sugar-based exfoliator gently buffs away dry and flaky skin with a formula enhanced by hydrating and nourishing conditioners leaving lips soft and oh-so smoothable.”
Now technically, a scrub is NOT hard to make on your own. But…when they look this pretty (and with names representing flavors like that) it is kind of hard to resist.
These pots launch in March 2017, in the US and Internationally, and roll out to the rest of Europe later that month.
We used to wait with bated breath for Pantone to release the Colors Of The Year. Not because we couldn’t discern on our own which colors we saw most OF on the Runway (we are observant adults!)…but because it does get highly specific. When every other fashion company is following suit, we have to represent the same palette (at least in some close proximity.) A lady doesn’t want to buy a variety of new pieces for the season only to find her footwear is way off the color mark…so the palette becomes our template, and the way in which we flesh out our collections. Granted, our textures may be vastly different, but there will still be some crossover – leathers, skins, and fabrics will find a way to jive with their apparel counterparts. (To make money…they kind of *have* to!)
The same goes for the cosmetic industry, though – they follow the shades as much as they can, though I imagine it is a bit more of a challenge. For those who produce nail polish, even lipstick (Lime Crime, anyone?) offbeat shades aren’t a stretch. But it can be an exercise in creativity to come up with items that do speak to these hues for more companies that favor “wearable.”
For 2017, this is what we are looking at:
13-0755 Primrose Yellow
19-4045 Lapis Blue
14-4620 Island Paradise
13-1404 Pale Dogwood
17-2034 Pink Yarrow
The KEY color here, however, is Greenery.
Butter London, for one, has already hopped on the Greenery bandwagon. I don’t LOVE the shade but…even as a Fashion Director, that wasn’t (ISN’T) up to me!
If it’s in synch with the rest of your ensemble – or even the contrasting “pop” – you can be assured you and your Greenery are fully in line with the trends. It might be the new-season jolt you (didn’t know you) needed.
And just in case you nail polish and your kale salad isn’t enough bang for your buck, you can embrace the “idea” – and stop a lot of traffic – with a new, leafy green Mercedes AMG GT Roadster…
So like it or not, green IS in. It isn’t everyone’s color necessarily, but there are ways to sneak in a hint here or there. If all else fails, just point to your side of vegetables when you’re out to dinner – not only will you be on par with fashionistas across the globe, but healthy is trendy too. Ahhhh. Double whammy!
Jerrod Blandino of Too Faced Cosmetics finally posted a pix of the Sweet Peach shenanigans – long awaited for many. For me, the more natural, the better – I don’t mind sheen, so long as it isn’t glittery. Much that I adore the later, when you reach a certain point in life, you don’t want the “glow” to be as obvious…
The newbie is available in December, meaning you can stave off a frosty, icy gleam with something a tad more Spring-like. Nothing wrong with a little warmth amidst the snow.
MAC has always been a fav of mine – for performances, it’s hard to beat the incredibly cool array of products, colors and finishes…and honestly, it is just such and innovative and funky brand.
Here were are just at the front end of Fall, and less Autumnal, more Spring / Summer is cropping up (isn’t that the ay, though – Fashion works on the same, seemingly quirky timeline!)
Britishbeautyblogger recently posted about what’s coming for 2017 – Keep in mind that there is ALWAYS something new – a new collaboration, color, collection, whatever! – from MAC. But she shares a lot of photos of new stuff that you might want to keep your eyes open for next year…so check out the link above to see what’s new.
Apparently it’s everything from colored mascaras, to fancy gilded powders, colorful palettes, and some magic thrown into the mix…
