A Good General

There is so much wisdom within this quotation… It captures the true essence of leadership, no matter in the circumstance of war time, nor the context of a battle troop. This is the kind of attitude that transcends space and time.

When Then Stars Conspire…

It may take a great leap of faith when all lights seem to have extinguished, but the stars are ever conspiring in your favor, way up there in the dark. . .

Sometimes you just need to find a little hope deep inside, and to trust the timing of the Universe.

Miracles happen all the time, just like an infinite, glittering snow storm once upon a March. . . Or perhaps a prosperous, full-of-good-fortune moon (which you will see when you look up tonight).

I remember surrendering to possibility, amidst a time of great uncertainty. And, just like that, my wildest dreams were surpassed.

Martial Arts Humor – My Mom

Leaving to head back home after visiting my parents for the weekend…

Mom: It’s going to start snowing, you better get going!  I don’t want you to have any trouble.

Me: Okay! I’ll let you know when I get there.

Mom:  Do you have your sword, Bunny?

Me: I do!

Mom: Okay, good!  Drive safely!

Can’t forget the important things!

Snow Day Snacks

Depending on where you are, you may have gotten some snow the other day – for many locations in the US, it was a nice, wintery foot and a half or so.

Now I realize it isn’t as easy to get around in inclement weather (or the aftermath)… And I, too, have to stand on those horrific impending-apocalypse lines at the supermarket.  But I LOVE the Seasons, and I LOVE snow – it changes things up and gives us a chance to SLOW DOWN (rest days?  What are those?!)

My man and I decided to venture out during the blizzard (I mean, why make it easy for ourselves!?)  The pubs in the area had promised to stay open and sure enough, they were.  We wandered (er, were wind-blown!) into one we hadn’t yet tried, and were delightfully surprised – there may have been only four of us in the entire place, but they were incredibly accommodating.

Not only was I able to get coffee with almond milk (how many pubs have that, you ask?  Not many!), but I was also able to order something clean and delicious for lunch – sliced, roasted turkey.

The menu was very limited but the bartender didn’t bat a lash when I said I didn’t drink, and that I wanted turkey…minus the sandwich part!  It seems like a small thing, but it is the kind of accommodation and consideration I truly appreciate – while the world has become more conscious overall, offering healthy options at restaurants, it still can’t be expected that every establishment is on board.

I’m not as flexible with my nutritional choices as most people and I am always and ever thankful to be met with “no problem” or even “let me double check for you!”

The turkey happened to be UH-MAZING, and I made a point to tell the owner that if I liked it…it is DEFINITELY good!

Yes indeed, Mrs. Particular LOVED it – it was just what I needed for a snowy day.

Holiday 2015 – Guerlain Neiges et Merveilles

Another 2015 Holiday Collection upcoming – Guerlain Neiges et Merveilles! Thanks to imabeautygeek for these photos (she has more, so be sure to look!)

This Collection looks positively divine… As in snow goddess (forget queen!) ❤

Guerlain Meteorites Voyage Enchante Skin-Perfecting Illuminating Matte Powder, for one, is so up my alley it’s ridiculous!  It is, to my great chagrin, exorbitantly priced (around ($160 US, if I am reading correctly.  Gasp!)  But I am EVER on the lookout for a MATTE illuminator

Perhaps a lower-end brand will jump on Guerlain’s heels.  Oh, pretty please!?!?!  The silvered compact is spectacular…with it’s snow-white, petal’ed pattern… But I REALLY just want the glowing, white powder (did I mention it’s matte?!) Shimmer is great…and as a former Ballroom and figure skating competitor, I LOVE my glitter.  But for every just-want-to-glow day?  Not so much.  Illuminate me, sans the disco effect!

Enchanted Snowflakes Meteorites Light-Enhancing Powder is pretty much to die for… I mean…just look at those pearlescent spheres and shapely stars, just WAITING to cast a snow angel gleam on those cheeks!!  ARG!  It’s about $67 US, again, as far as I can tell based on other monetary measures.)

Other beauties in this fantastical, wintery Collection include:

  • Rouge G Exceptional Complete Lip Colour Lipstick in 867 Merveilleux Rose (approx. $42 US)
  • Guerlain Maxi Velvet Matte Lip Colour – (“similar to Rouge G L’extrait M65 Paress.” approx. $25 US)
  • Guerlain Gloss d’Enfer – Sheer iridescent white with sparkles! (approx. $25 US)
  • Guerlain Ors et Merveilles Eyes and Blush Palette – five shades, including a rich brown, plum, champagne, soft yellow gold, and baby pink for eyes…along with four bright pink shades for in-from-the-cold cheeks (approx. $71.50 US)
  • La Laque Couleur 903 Nuit Merveilleuse – a bold, shimmering purple polish (approx. $21 US)

SO basically…this Collection is just beautiful – it could sit on your vanity and show itself off, boasting high shine silver, icy white, and snowflake designs…or you could actually USE the gorgeousness therein contained and be doubly fabulous!

All I can say is “oh my!”

And if not that…?

“I WANT!”  *lol*

Shiseido Snow Beauty

The name conjures images of crystalline snow flakes and an icy, moonlit glow…doesn’t it?

It might be the figure skater in me but I feel like there is something so magical about Wintertime – so many people complain about it but…

The SOUNDS Winter makes…

The scent of the air…

That pearlescent sheen of snow!

It’s divine!

And I thought of it all at once when I saw this pale, semi-transparent powder.

According to ChicProfile (or perhaps Shiseido directly), it will gradually increase the clarity of your skin while covering the unevenness of your complexion and also minimizing and covering your pores.”

The product contains active whitening ingredients as well, helping you to achieve that bright, porcelain perfection, nary a freckle in sight.  I have some freckling – thank you, great ball of fire-in-the-sky for adding to them! – so such a promise, of glowingly clarity, is one I am truly excited about.

The formula, gently fragranced with white florals, contains  “tranexamic acid and hyaluronic acid for moisturizing.”  It is recommended as both a daytime powder, as well as evening, as it has skincare properties.

This beautifully snowflake-encircled compact will be available on the 21st of September in Japan.  Rolling out from there, I suspect!  I did see a pre-sale here, shipping September 25th as well.
