Halloween Shoppe…Meow!

It’s that time of year! ūüėÄ

No matter the enormity of the selections out there for foundation – whether color, or formulation, mass market, or prestige – I only ever use Meow. ¬†I’m a cat lover, tis¬†true (the fact¬†may indeed¬†be responsible for me finding the Company¬†many years ago). . .but I stick with Meow not because I love the names (marketing can sway a lady easily – you know who you are!) ¬†

No, they are my must-have because they straight up deliver. ¬†Their mineral foundations contain VERY little – something that tends to be like an elusive butterfly these days. ¬†An ingredient list that’s short, to the point, and pronounceable?! ¬†SIGN ME UP!

The formulas last too – as an athlete and Martial Artist it’s fair to say I’ve put these to the test. ¬†Often.¬†And not just any old paces – full on Jiu-Jitsu, ballroom competitions, leg day, HIIT on occasion…those minerals work hard!

With all that activity, why wear any at all? Wouldn’t my pores be clogged?! ¬†I happily – and emphatically – say “NOPE!”

These minerals are¬†skin-loving – it’s almost like doubling up (let’s be honest, with me, quadrupling up!) on skincare.¬† My skin manages to¬†breathe and stay even with the added benefit – thanks to zinc¬†oxide and titanium oxide – of natural sun defense, and¬†protection from daily aggressors. ¬†These aren’t full of fancy pants ingredients but they don’t have to be¬†– they give me an extra layer of armor, so to speak, over all of my lotions and potions (with which I am equally as discerning!)¬†¬†It’s nice not to have to peel back a label¬†just to read the rest of the ingredient list.

That aside, the color selection is ASTOUNDING РWELL beyond what most mass or prestige companies will ever offer.  Meow accounts for countless undertones (86 shades with coordinating concealers Рread that number again!) I know! What?!?!

Another¬†major point?¬†The products are non-comedogenic – for someone who’s¬†active, that goes a long way.

Did I mention you also get a TON of minerals¬†for your money (the larger containers are enormous! – don’t count on finding the same generosity at a Sephora or Ulta!)¬†

Anyway…to my Hallows point!

…Meow is currently offering Halloween Foundations – a nice departure from greasy, pore-clogging face paints of old – so definitely check them¬†out if you have sensitive skin. . .or you don’t want to coat yourself in something ultra-unnatural!

The colors are designed to be opaque, and layerable, so you can achieve whatever level of zombified or goulish that you are aiming for…without clogging your beautiful peau. I mean what’s the point of haunting around if you’re dreading post-Halloween breakouts!? Talk about freaky!

Make Up Forever Artist Shadow Eyeshadow and Powder Blush

Can I just say…holy versatility?!

Make Up Forever’s Artist Shadow and Powder Blush¬†is a dream for anyone who either dolls up every day…OR performs or has a major event (think wedding, gala, etc.) ¬†

I have a wedding (my own!) coming up soon – unfortunately (or fortunately, so says my wallet!) I already have a ton of stuff to work with. ¬†Had I not, I’d likely have gone straight to this enormous selection to find the shades I want to mix. ¬†Had I seen this back in my Ballroom Dancing days, I’d likely own half by now. ¬†Okay, maybe just a fourth.

The formulas come in

  • Matte¬†
  • Metallic
  • Satin
  • Shimmer

And there are more shades that I have EVER seen for any other product. ¬†Truly, a plethora.¬†No matter what your mood, what the season, or what the occasion, your pretty much promised something from this array. ¬†And nevermind if the shade says “eyeshadow” or “blush” specifically – you can basically use it however you want.

Fall 2016 / 2017 – MAC Trend Forecast

Usually I see these post to MAC early on…but I appreciate that ReallyRee beat everyone else to the punch, sharing images and swatches of the up-and-coming Autumn Palettes.

I LOVE the colors in these,¬†finding them to be incredibly wearable overall. ¬†The less obvious, less (perhaps) everyday shades are still in hues¬†that can be worn both with¬†major impact…or in a more subtle way – so all around, they offer a wonderful¬†selection to choose from to create a wintery flush, or something more dramatic.

It isn’t fair of me to share all of ReallyRee’s swatches, so please click her link above to see all of her fabulous photos! Really gorgeous, if you ask me. ¬†

One palette is designed for the eye, the other for the lips…but I personally think these can be used for lips, eyes¬†AND¬†cheeks, pretty interchangeably… ¬†They last well and apparently don’t crease – hallelujah. ¬†So really whatever you feel like doing with them works! ūüôā ¬†You can mix, or use stand-alone – as always, MAC delivers something divine.

Pur Cosmetics Cameo Contour

I came across this review and, while contouring products are in abundance in the marketplace (in which case I’m starting to feel “over it”), I loved the way this one¬†swatched.¬†

If you are in Performing Arts…or performing Sports (Ballroom, Figure Skating)…this type of tool is a must-have. ¬†But¬†contouring products have¬†become so commonplace that ladies are using them¬†everyday, not only for¬†special events and photos (which it works fabulously for.)

The dual-ended Cameo Contour highlighting and shading pair come in a solid range of color combinations (there are only five, but they do go from fair to deep, which I love love LOVE seeing!):

  • Light – Porcelain & Light 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup; fair to fair with creamy ivory undertones
  • Medium ‚Äď Blush Medium & Golden Medium 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup; medium beige with blush to golden undertones
  • Tan ‚Äď Light Tan, Tan, & Medium Tan 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup; olive with yellow, honey and caramel undertones
  • Dark ‚Äď Medium Dark & Golden Dark 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup; rich bronze with golden undertones
  • Deep ‚Äď Deep & Deeper 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup; warm with golden amber undertones

Here are BudgetBeautyBlog’s awesome photos! ¬†Definitely check out her post for more about how it felt – sounds like it wears really well. ¬†Not to mention, it can double as a touch up concealer or foundation tool possibly, since you can mix the shades for smaller areas.

10 Shades Of Black

In honor of Halloween…even if it WAS last Night!…I’m sharing Temptalia’s post about the Top 10 Shades Of Black.¬†‚̧

Black happens to be my favorite shade…or the¬†absolute absence of shades, if we must be technical. ¬†That’s not to say I don’t love color (I’m¬†especially partial to rich jewel tones!)…but black is hands-down my most “go-to” of them all…

So I loved seeing her take on the top 10! ūüôā ¬†

And I looooved some of these names! ¬†“Witches,” “Blacktrack,” “Clubbing Stilettos,¬†“Batty”… ¬†

Fall 2015 – L’Oreal Chateau Royale

A new Autumn nail polish Collection from L’oreal for 2015 –¬†Chateau Royale! (Thanks to CoolPolishBlog for the awesome images!)

It appears that there are seven shades – from ultra pale, to blushing hues, to purple¬†and currant¬†tones. ¬†The wording says “Escape to Bordeaux in 7 Vintage Shades.” ¬†This doesn’t mean retro “vintage,” by the way… We are speaking in¬†terms of wine!

Pinot Purple and Wicked Wine are definitely my favorites… ¬†They fee very rich, glossy and vibrant.

She does some really snazzy nail art effects so do check out her original post! (I leave that stuff to the real pros! ūüôā )¬†

Fall 2015 – Bobbi Brown Luxe

Temptalia always posts fabulous swatches…and these, for Bobbi Brown’s Luxe Lip Color¬†(Fall 2015),¬†are no exception – seriously gorgeous.¬†¬†She swatches on the skin, on the lips, and shows the lippie itself…and it’s done really beautifully.

I LOVE the colors not only because the shades are divine…but¬†they are incredibly¬†wearable! I mean there isn’t ONE color in there that’s really difficult – they would work on a variety of tones, and they aren’t delving into the off-beat realm…which is fun, but (let’s be honest) is NOT feasible for most of us.

The lippies are available now at Nordstrom, and the colors are as follows:

  • Brocade
  • Neutral Rose
  • Pale Coral
  • Parisian Red
  • Pink Buff
  • Pink Cloud
  • Pink Guava
  • Pink Nude
  • Plum Brandy
  • Posh Pink
  • Raspberry Pink
  • Red Berry
  • Red Velvet
  • Retro Coral
  • Retro Red
  • Soft Berry
  • Spring Pink
  • Sunset Orange
