Clinique Fresh Pressed Pure Vitamin C 7 Day System

Vitamin C has long been used for brightening the skin, evening tone, and tackling pesky fine lines.  It isn’t new, in this case, but it is pretty fabulous, and is a great alternative to sometimes harsher (though effective) topicals such as hydroquinone and retinoids.

One of the biggest issues with Vitamin C preparations, though, is that it can lose efficacy and potency rather rapidly.  Once we open a large-scale bottle, chances are we aren’t going to get through the product as quickly as it will begin to break down.

I love that Clinque has addressed this packaging concern with their new Fresh Pressed 7 Day System with Pure Vitamin C. I also, not so secretly, love powdered cleansers that activate with water!

Per Clinique, the two part system is designed to keep you radiant and retexturized:

This ultrafine powder cleanser releases the de-aging power of fresh vitamin C to refresh and renew. Instantly skin is awakened, purified, with a refined texture and brighter look. Use in AM to jump-start skin’s renewal.

This unique booster releases the de-aging power of 10% fresh vitamin C to refresh and renew. Use with your favourite Clinique moisturizer to instantly brighten skin’s look—and deliver remarkably even-toned, retexturized skin starting in just one week.

Personally, I love the sound of it.  Taking care of your skin early will make a difference, so if you are younger, you can benefit as much from it!

Clinique Pep-Start

So I’m not sure if I totally buy that you can look more wide awake in three seconds (I love that it says three, as opposed to five, or two, or fifteen, by the way.)  But…Clinique is a long-standing and well-backed brand, with many cult products among the ranks, so perhaps this Pep Start Eye Cream will hold up to it’s claims…

This newbie aims to hydrate, refresh, brighten, and all around add some “pep” to your peepers.  The tip is a pop-up, cool-touch, de-puffing ball designed to be swiped in circular motions around the eyes.  Very wax-on / wax-off (if you get the Karate Kid reference. 😉 )

Interestingly, the five reviews on the site currently have averaged three of five stars – it sounds like consumers are not keen on the packaging (preferring a steel ball for real “cooling”), but others thought it worked well and quickly.

Soap & Glory Speed Plump

Oh my!  Speed Plump Overnight Moisture Mousse sounds like a cross between a super spa treatment and a frothy, cake-batter-scented concoction from a kitchen preparing for a birthday party!

It is not, alas, edible, but…it is apparently promising miracles enough to make up for that.  It is a “Super-light, yet astonishingly potent” cream created for dry, dehydrated, or dull skin. The texture is a soft, “uniquely bubbly” mouse that contains a variety of active boosters promising to rehydrate and smooth (er…plump!) your fine lines by morning.

Hmmmm… It sounds pretty fabulous, so I am keeping my eyes peeled for reviews!

If you were down and out that this product was for overnight, and desperately wanted a daytime version…well…meet the All-Day Super Moisture.

A light-weigh, fast-absorbing fluid for dehydrated skin, made up of “oxygenators, a super-hydrating watermelon extract, a wrinkle-smoothing marine plant and elasticity-promoting raspberry stem cells.”

Per the site:

WHAT DOES IT DO?
– Gives skin a miracle moisture makeover

– Instantly plumps up moisture from within
– Smoothes fine lines & wrinkles
– Energises & refreshes skin
– Locks in moisture for 24hrs
– Gives skin a youthful dewy healthy glow

So you have two options…or two to combine for a double-punch to dry, winter skin!  Perfect for the colder months coming up, I’d say! 😉
