Backstage – Dior Colour Filters

Dior has a ton of products masquerading in this package, one of which is my favorite balm in the world.  And generally, these snappy, back-knobbed sticks show up during the runway shows, sneaking their way into the backstage photos while models get prepped to show off the new collection (clothing and cosmetics alike!)

These two new “Fix It” products, available August 1st, come in four shades, all designed to mask imperfections and unwanted tones:

  • Apricot (great for dark circles)
  • Yellow (can tone down ruddiness, as well as help with circles)
  • Blue (good for sallowness or overly-orange that needs to be evened, as well as adding radiance)
  • Green (tones down redness)

The color portion of this 2-in-1 tool wraps around a “soft focus” core that supposedly helps to diffuse lines and creases (tons of blurring products out there, so no surprise.)  The great news is that for BritishBeautyBlogger, this actually didn’t settle into lines, so it delivered what it claims it will.  She also felt it was nicely pigmented (which you can see in her swatches – I was impressed with the color payoff also given the ratio of core to color.)

These are meant to be used as a primer for the eyes, lips, and the face, so feel free to play around!

Summer 2016 – MAC Blue Nectar

I’m not totally sure to whom I can attribute this curious blurb – MAC, of course, but I mean specifically.  I appreciate verbal creativity and find illustrative words a great deal of fun, but I wasn’t as crazy about this one. . . Sorry.

“Within the realm of the rose, a mysterious kingdom of blue ripe with temptation… Court seduction with only the most potent strains of Lipstick–Fixation, Carnivorous, Aphrodisia Invite intrigue with the intoxicating essence of sheer colour in Plushglass. Surrender to instinct, let your Blue Nectar flow.”

Fortunately the colors aren’t quite as contrived as the description!  They aren’t necessarily for the less bold of the group, though – with colors like “Lured In,” Ablaze,” and “Heroine,” you need to be prepared to make a solid statement.

The Collection, per Temptalia, will include the following:

MAC Lipstick

  • Courting Seduction – Creamy pastel lavender (Amplified)
  • Lured In – Mid-tone pastel purple (Amplified)
  • Invite – Intrigue Cool, bright fuchsia (Matte)
  • Intoxicate – Bright raspberry red (Matte)
  • Lush Extract – Deep royal purple (Matte)
  • Riot House – Light vivid orange (Matte) (Repromote)
  • Give In – Creamy natural pink (Matte)

Diorblush Cheek Stick

I guess it was only a matter of time before Dior launched their own chubby cheek stick!  I am super thrilled because Dior boasts some super high-quality cosmetics (so I have personally found, anyway!)

Diorblush Cheek Stick Velvet Colour Creme Blush comes in three juicy shades, each at $34:

  • 675 – Cosmopolite Coral
  • 765 – Cosmopolite Rosewood
  • 845 – Cosmopolite Pink

Per Nordstrom:

“Diorblush Cheek Stick is a new blush in a hybrid stick format for intuitive makeup application on the go. It blends softly and seamlessly with your skin for a delicate powdery finish that can be intensified to suit your desire. Its texture is ultra-pigmented, powdery and creamy.”

I actually prefer sheerer formulas because it’s harder to be heavy-handed…but I will definitely check them out instore because I J’ADORE Dior! 🙂

These lovely little ladies offer “the shine of a gloss, the precision of a lip pencil” in a stick form.  Personally, from the look of them, they feel more like slim-line chubby sticks…!

From the sound of it, these wear very well and as you can see, the colors are delicious…and pigmented (more so than I expected!)  They look very smooth, and fresh for end-of-summer-to-Fall.
