Wait…WHaAaaAT!? Where were THESE when I was competitively Ballroom Dancing, dang it?!
These are the PERFECT, iridescent light catchers (and I’m highly irritated that they’ve come out now…several years too late!) The names are as sassy as the shades, and I love that they (along with many other companies) are following suit of such brands as Colour Pop and showing swatches on a variety of skin tones. *LOVE*
FLUKE. . .
I can’t well wear them to the dojo (lest my partner’s gi light up like a Christmas ball) but…I hope other people indulge in the high-wattage glow!
The Diamond Crushers are meant to layer over lip color, but I’m sure you could use them on your own. You could also very likely get creative (because…why not?) and use them to reflect light to / from other areas. Eye gloss, anyone?
Dior has a ton of products masquerading in this package, one of which is my favorite balm in the world. And generally, these snappy, back-knobbed sticks show up during the runway shows, sneaking their way into the backstage photos while models get prepped to show off the new collection (clothing and cosmetics alike!)
These two new “Fix It” products, available August 1st, come in four shades, all designed to mask imperfections and unwanted tones:
- Apricot (great for dark circles)
- Yellow (can tone down ruddiness, as well as help with circles)
- Blue (good for sallowness or overly-orange that needs to be evened, as well as adding radiance)
- Green (tones down redness)
The color portion of this 2-in-1 tool wraps around a “soft focus” core that supposedly helps to diffuse lines and creases (tons of blurring products out there, so no surprise.) The great news is that for BritishBeautyBlogger, this actually didn’t settle into lines, so it delivered what it claims it will. She also felt it was nicely pigmented (which you can see in her swatches – I was impressed with the color payoff also given the ratio of core to color.)
These are meant to be used as a primer for the eyes, lips, and the face, so feel free to play around!
Just sharing – I’ve seen a few posts here and there, but in Nouveau Cheap’s, you can see all of them. As from that second link, they are on Amazon if you want early dibs!
More glow-getters on the horizon, this time from cosmetic giant, Estee Lauder. Genuine Glow Summer 2016 Collection includes five super-star, radiance-delivering products:
What I love about these products is that they are ageless – they can work beautifully for someone in their 20’s as much as someone in her 50’s – they are designed to give a natural illumination to the complexion with subtle, flushed color.
There’s no over-doing here, no mask-like finish, or real ability to be too heavy-handed in the first place. Hallelujah!
In my own mind the goal of any color cosmetic (shy of ballroom / skating / theater performance (etc) OR your wedding (mine’s soon! ❤ ) / night out (etc)) is to enhance. Not hide.
Yes, you ARE gorgeous enough to go without makeup! But for days when you might need an extra boost – just enough to give your bright eyes the spotlight (as opposed to sleepless undeyes or lackluster skin!) – these hydrating, priming, and brightening products can help.
Chicprofile shares more details here (haven’t seen all online as yet, but those with links are above. 🙂 )
Usually I see these post to MAC early on…but I appreciate that ReallyRee beat everyone else to the punch, sharing images and swatches of the up-and-coming Autumn Palettes.
I LOVE the colors in these, finding them to be incredibly wearable overall. The less obvious, less (perhaps) everyday shades are still in hues that can be worn both with major impact…or in a more subtle way – so all around, they offer a wonderful selection to choose from to create a wintery flush, or something more dramatic.
It isn’t fair of me to share all of ReallyRee’s swatches, so please click her link above to see all of her fabulous photos! Really gorgeous, if you ask me.
One palette is designed for the eye, the other for the lips…but I personally think these can be used for lips, eyes AND cheeks, pretty interchangeably… They last well and apparently don’t crease – hallelujah. So really whatever you feel like doing with them works! 🙂 You can mix, or use stand-alone – as always, MAC delivers something divine.
Charlotte Tillbury has some incredibly gorgeous products… This two in one compact palette is pretty divine, imparting glamorously flushed cheeks (all that paparazzi, you know!), dewy skin, perfect pout, and a sultry, shimmering gaze.
Filmstar On The Go comes in three color ways:
- Some Like It Hot
- Rebel Without A Cause
- The Spy Who Loved Me
“Channel your inner Bond Girl with The Spy Who Loved Me, a rose-gold luminescent eye cream paired with a berry balm for a sultry, seductive air.
It’s double trouble with Rebel Without A Cause, a striking gold leaf shadow teamed with a fiery hot pink cheek and lip colour. Cara Delevingne in a jar!
Alternatively, plump for Charlotte’s Studio 54-inspired Some Like It Hot, a sizzlingly 70’s style palette with a gilded green-brown eye colour and punchy peach pout.”
I’m not sure I gathered “Midnight Rainbow” from the imagery but… The newest look from Rouge Bunny Rouge indeed goes by the elusive, mysterious moniker.
Per the site, “the exciting phenomena that occur when night becomes day, and day becomes night act as a model for our 2015 look series CREPUSCULAR SONG.”
