Holiday 2016 – MAC Nutcracker Sweet

I’m a little bit partial to the Nutcracker because I grew up being classically trained – 10 years of ballet, and you’ll see ten years of the Nutcracker around the holidays…if not more (once a dancer, always a dancer.)  I desperately wanted to be in it, actually, and a friend and fellow dancer was – spectacular!

MAC is embracing the fun and festivities with a Holiday Nutcracker-inspired Collection – Sweet as can be.  For details, check out Chicprofile, who shares the full list of goodies, and a few more images. A little tricky to see all of the items clearly, given the bold pink patterning of dots and stripes but…anyway!  Personally, I love the Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Stormy Pink, a muted grey-purple hue.  I feel like it would add a barely-there depth (not a new shade, so much, but sometimes they aren’t!)

Spring / Summer 2016 – MAC Future

This is a SHARE of two posts…

I saw PerilouslyPale post some great photos of this up and coming Spring 2016 Collection, as well as ChicProfile, and wanted to pass them on! 🙂  MAC has been a long time favorite with my background in Ballroom Dancing, Ballet, and Figure Skating – their products ALWAYS perform as hard as we do, and the pigment stays true! (Impressive!)

I haven’t seen too many lip volumizers out recently, so it was ice to see someone jumping back on that bandwagon.  Known primarily for their masks, Glam Glow is offering a new pout plumper – Plumprageous Gloss Lip Treatment. photo photo

The treatment is designed to plump the look of lips and to continue to enhance as it is worn.“It features a triple plumping action with immediate high potency botanical plumping actives and long-term enhancement from a specialty tripeptide with a pro-lipid complex.”

The formula is clear and non-sticky, and so far it has above average reviews.  I haven’t seen any major press about it yet, but count me curious.  Lip lines are such a pesky problem!

Christmas / Holiday 2015 – Chanel Rouge Noir Absolument

Chanel Rouge Noir Absolument is, I have to say, pretty spectacular.  It’s vampy and glam at the same time… ❤  Oh, la la!

A bunch of ladies have posted their own swatches online…which I always love to see.  Thank you to all who shared!

Spring 2016 Forecast – M.A.C.

A few images of M.A.C.’s Spring 2016 Trend Forecast Palettes have been out and about in the last few days, and they remind me a lot of my color and trend work (anyone familiar with Pantones?! 🙂 ) from my Fashion days.

You can purchase the goodies online at M.A.C. for $40:

“From London to Milan, SS16’s most-talked-about colour trends are now available in limited-edition lip and eye palettes, each with six shades. Be sure to add a touch of glamour to your look with our new gold shade of Studio Eye Gloss.”

The Spring Lip Palette ranges “from pale peach to deep wine.”

The Eye Palette is composed of the “most-talked-about shades of creamy shadows, from saffron to deep berry.”

To add to the fun, the Money Honey eye gloss “provides high shine with buildable coverage” in a “true yellow gold metallic glitter.”  Sass-y!

I love the colors – Feel a bit more Autumn to me but…loving them all the same!

It Cosmetics Vitality

It Cosmetics has just launched a new half-stain – as in 50% of the stain technology of their existing ones, keeping the color true, but the effect soft.

Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Lip Gloss Soft Stain (that’s a mouthful!) hydrates and conditions with a mix of nine butters and oils, helping to diffuse lip line and nourish all at the same time.

The three colors, offered at $24, include:

  • Soft Je Ne Sais Quoi
  • Soft Naturally Flushed
  • Soft Sweet Rose

I love It Cosmetics – I think the quality of their products is terrific, and the formulas are ones that deliver.  Looking forward to checking these out.

How Sweet It Is

Tarte has a new, adorable lil’ set available on Ulta, the Sweet It Is Lip Tint in Sweet, and a matching Delux Amazonian 12 Hour Clay Blush in the same hue.

I love peachy pinks because they seem to work well on so many skin tones…so I can’t wait to see this in person!  Tarte goes by “golden pink” for this Sweet shade, but either way, I bet it is “complexion enhancing” in a beautifully natural way.

I saw some swatches of Glisten Cheek Stain from Isabella Muse (love her!), which I had also been exited about…but it seems to have a bit too much shimmer for a freshly-glowing-but-non-sparkly look…so I was a bit bummed about that.

The up-close on Sweet doesn’t seem to be as shimmery, though…which I am hoping remains true ON.  The Lip Tint may prove to glisten a bit more than the Blush, but overall, LOVE the hue. ❤

Draw Like An Artiste

I loved Rouge Bunny Rouge’s recent newsletter…  I learned about tools and tricks of the makeup trade through my sports – which were primarily “performance” sports, such as dancing and figure skating.

But…I didn’t go into those sports as a wee thing knowing exactly what brushes did what. Grooming is a HUGE part of the presentation so learning about the different shapes and uses helped enormously.

I loved that RBR neatly listed out the variety of brushes they offer, and that they make it easy to peruse on their site.  Some ladies are new to all of this and user-friendly MATTERS.

Brushes can make a vast difference as far as the looks and lines you are aiming to achieve – professional makeup artists will tell you to the hilt that quality tools can make or break you.

Now not everyone can afford – or wants to bother with – ultra high quality (which often means much pricier.) There is absolutely nothing wrong with that!  BUT...know what the different tips mean.  Indulge in learning a bit about the way these “tools” are used, because it will get you to your goal much easier and quicker.  Less hassle is always a good thing in a world that has become so very fast-paced!

Yay for Rouge Bunny Rouge – love how easy they made it.
