Tarte Limited Edition Vegan Pearly Girl

Wait…what?  I’d never have expected a teeth whitener from cosmetic company Tarte, let alone (necessarily) a vegan one.  But I guess it’s, er, an extension of lip gloss…?  A smile IS the best accessory. . .

Whatever the reason, they are offering a limited edition “Pearly Girl” pen whitener  for those of you who might be interested.  The ingredients are particularly novel, though of course they have subtracted some of those lesser desirable ones:

Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, glycerin, PEG-400, hydrogen peroxide, sodium hydroxide, disodium EDTA, potassium nitrate, mentha pulegium, sodium saccharin.

formulated without parabens, formulated without mineral oil, formulated without  phthalates, formulated without sodium lauryl sulfates, formulated without gluten

Still, I feel like if I wanted a whitener myself, I’d hit up Crest or Colgate.  Not for nothing, but they’ve been in that game a lot longer – even if the ingredients are the same (or close), Tarte doesn’t strike me (personally) as my go to for pearly whites.

That said, if it works, and it’s convenient to snag at the time…more power to you.

Plumprageous

I haven’t seen too many lip volumizers out recently, so it was ice to see someone jumping back on that bandwagon.  Known primarily for their masks, Glam Glow is offering a new pout plumper – Plumprageous Gloss Lip Treatment.

The treatment is designed to plump the look of lips and to continue to enhance as it is worn.“It features a triple plumping action with immediate high potency botanical plumping actives and long-term enhancement from a specialty tripeptide with a pro-lipid complex.”

The formula is clear and non-sticky, and so far it has above average reviews.  I haven’t seen any major press about it yet, but count me curious.  Lip lines are such a pesky problem!

Spring 2016 – NARS Nouvelle Vogue (Update)

A fun Instagram update with more products (I have seen those great palettes in other posts already – beautiful!) Snagged this from BeautyLogicBlog

And here is my original post!

Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Lacquer Maharajah 506

That’s quite a name for a lip gloss!  Giorgio Armani’s Ecstasy Lacquer in Maharajah 506 is a luscious pink cherry hue with iridescent violet micro glitter.

The shades, featuring ten intense lacquered and eight “pearlescent metallic“s, apparently stay put even though meals and drinks.  Once it does fade  – anywhere from 6 to 8 hours later – it leaves a lovely stain behind…or at least a little bit of the glitter!

ChicProfile – many thanks for these photos! – shares her wonderful review about the color, the lasting factor, and application.  I think the packaging is pretty divine, pairing the black gloss and the color for an bold degrade.

I used to be a glitter MANIC – I’d wear it to class in college, just because.  (Who’s Foreign Financial Markets class couldn’t use it?!) But these days, I leave the glitter to my finger tips and toes…so while I LOVE the beautiful hue of Maharaja, it may be a skip for me.

Spring / Summer 2016 – NARS Hot Sand

More info about the Hot Sand Collection, thanks to ChicProfile! The Collection will be launching in January, 2016 – first in Japan, and then on the 15th internationally.

I can’t say I’m over the moon with these, feeling that they aren’t particularly “new and exciting.”  That said, Laguna and Orgasm are such hot sellers that it makes a lot of sense to pair them up with new shades to ensure more sales – can’t blame them there!  Part of it is that the “Hot Sand” shade feels like it’s too fair for many skin tones.  The Multiple might show up better of the blushes.

The Collection will include the following Limited Edition products:

NARS Illuminating Multiple

  • Hot Sand – shimmering peach champagne

NARS Blush Duo

  • Hot Sand – a shimmering golden peach
  • Orgasm – pink shimmering golden

NARS Blush Bronzer Duo

  • Hot Sand – a shimmering golden peach
  • Laguna – brown matt

NARS Lip Gloss

  • Hot Sand – a shimmering golden sand

NARS Hanamachi Kabuki

  • Kabuki Brush

Spring 2016 – NARS Nouvelle Vogue

The colors are generally pretty soft and toned-down, pairing dusty rose and beige with a splash of cool mint and rich blue for a modern sophisticated look.

Per NARS:

“The new wave of chic. Seasonal shades suit up for resort mode with high-sun and high-style.

For Spring 2016, NARS debuts a fresh and modern mix of seasonal shades and innovative textures for eyes, cheeks and lips. Orchid blush radiates from a natural, matte complexion and lips captivate in shimmering apricot, rose and mulled wine. Eyes mesmerize in icy mint, matte beige and bronzed rose tones paired with a bold, winged liner. The must-have of the season: Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in a sumptuous, versatile spectrum that can be applied dry for a sophisticated sheer effect, or wet for a dramatic, high-shine finish.”
