Halloween A La Lime Crime

Lime Crime is known for their offbeat shades, and daring finishes…so really Halloween isn’t a stretch.  Like, at all.

But I love that they make a point of the 31st all the same, and they they go “LE” (limited edition) in honor.  “Bloodmoon”? I do!  (Incidentally, I never – ever – wear lipstick.  But…I bought it, because… #vamp #bloodmoon #batwings. ❤ )

It’s kind of hard to resist – the perfect blackened red, don’t you agree?  Wicked is also spectacular, but I find it more a challenge to find the right dark blood red… Of course then I see Red Velvet and want that too… ❤

It’s perfect for leaving love notes, so I have an excuse to splurge. 😉  (Or at least that’s what my not-so-inner-also-outer Vamp says.)

If you are feeling angelic, you could always go “Moonstone” – fair to say they have all manner of “bold” covered…and in that shade, you wouldn’t be run of the mill “divine!”

Too Faced Melted Chocolate

Thanks to BudgetBeautyBlog for sharing the great sneak peak photo of Too Faced’s Melted Chocolate lineup…. The name is yummy enough to want them all! 🙂

The release for these will be January 2016, so keep it on your radar!  There will be six shades, include ding three metallics, and three long-wearing.

Fall 2015 – Bobbi Brown Luxe

Temptalia always posts fabulous swatches…and these, for Bobbi Brown’s Luxe Lip Color (Fall 2015), are no exception – seriously gorgeous.  She swatches on the skin, on the lips, and shows the lippie itself…and it’s done really beautifully.

I LOVE the colors not only because the shades are divine…but they are incredibly wearable! I mean there isn’t ONE color in there that’s really difficult – they would work on a variety of tones, and they aren’t delving into the off-beat realm…which is fun, but (let’s be honest) is NOT feasible for most of us.

The lippies are available now at Nordstrom, and the colors are as follows:

  • Brocade
  • Neutral Rose
  • Pale Coral
  • Parisian Red
  • Pink Buff
  • Pink Cloud
  • Pink Guava
  • Pink Nude
  • Plum Brandy
  • Posh Pink
  • Raspberry Pink
  • Red Berry
  • Red Velvet
  • Retro Coral
  • Retro Red
  • Soft Berry
  • Spring Pink
  • Sunset Orange
  • Your Majesty

Maybelline Color Blur Cream Matte Pencil & Smudger

There have been a lot of posts these days about the Maybelline Color Blur Cream Matte Pencil & Smudger.  I can’t say I’m surprised by a lip blurring product, as so much of color and skincare is currently focused on the trend.  But I will say that it is among the first, of what I am certain will be many like it, here in the USA.

The degrade lip color trend (as in, I-was-just-having-a-cherry-popsicle look) has been on going.  So, as Isabella Muse (Musings of a Muse) also points out (and I agree with her), this is very much in alignment with that idea.  I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that Klean Kolor’s 3D lippie is also overseas-inspired.

Ms. Muse does a great review of the lippies, and there are tons of photos of it.  BudgetBeautyBlogger also shares her take, paired with some AWESOME swatches where you can really see the density and effect of the color.

If you are a lip color girl, these look like they are worth checking out.  Once again, I feel a little bit sad that lipstick is more a Ballroom thing than a Dojo one (boy would THAT be out of place!) *LOL*  It was wicked fun to get so uber-glammed for dancing…and it would have been an excuse to buy these! 🙂

Candy Wow

Thanks to a blog I adore, Nouveau Cheap, for posting images (and thanks to @cutepretybeauty for sharing with her!) of Asia’s new Maybelline Baby Lips product, Candy Wow chubby pencils.

There are six shades in total (thanks to ctwgirl for sharing the photo), three of which are called Cherry, Raspberry and Peach.  The latter three appear (though I could  be mistaken) to have a bit of shimmer infused into the relatively pigmented color.  Cutepretybeauty shares her own swatches and comments.

So here in the US, we are currently just getting the original balms (and variations of it, such as medicated, or “Crystal,” which has shimmer.)  I am guessing it is just a matter of time before the glosses and pencils make it overseas to us, as the original product has quite the following!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Midheaven Neon

Rouge Bunny Rouge is precious.

“Intricate and luxurious cosmetics brand Rouge Bunny Rouge melds opulence and beauty with embellished detailing in a range of colour make-up that embraces romance and whimsy alongside modern technologies and first-class ingredients.”

The most recent newsletter featured the first of a Series of Looks, Midheaven Neon.  The only time I ever wore a lip shade like this was when I was on the ballroom floor competing…but what fun it was! I kind of felt like a china doll wearing so bright a hue, and this model looks much like one herself – the image encapsulates the theme perfectly: “a classic feminine, retro-inspired Spring Look with very modern light-reflecting, light-catching textures and beaming cool colors”

The site presents a flip through book to show visitors how to achieve the Look, as well as the products used to create it.  They also have a video AND a step-by-step downloadable PDF!  Way to go above and beyond! 😀 The navigation is incredibly easy, and ultra straightforward – refreshing!

It is a very feminine and girly presentation all around – though I am not so much that way myself, I think they’ve done an absolutely lovely job. ❤
