Halloween Fun – Wish Formula Bat Eye Essence Mask

Well, this is a first… I mean, I’ve seen sheet masks with character faces, but one in the shape of a bat…not until now. The glam-goth girl in me thinks it’s absolutely precious (and I’m not sure I’d ever want to use any other eye mask again!)

If you’re feeling (or looking) a little fatigued, Wish Formula Bat Eye Essence Mask will swoop in to the rescue. Combining soothing licorice, brightening vitamin C, hydrating fermented honey…and a kiss of mistletoe…these sassy little wings will perk you right up, leaving you with a wakeful look, and plump-ified peepers.

If you love Halloween as much as I do, the marketers might well have you snookered.

Curlers For All Lash Shapes

My one beauty must-have…?  Eyelash curler.  NOTHING – sorry! – wakes you up faster.

For me, though, I’ve always had trouble finding one that doesn’t snag or pull.  I typically use the Tweezerman clear, open-ended one, which works like a miracle, but back in January I saw these.

ProCurl and ProMaster Lash Logic are designed with different eye shapes in mind – round or almond.

BRILLIANT!  And…might I also say…FINALLY!

Because we all have a different shape, it isn’t a one-size-fits-all deal – literally.  Instead, we are generally forced to use the same tool, setting us up for potential snags and pulls – and lost lashes – along the way.  OUCH.

This new breed of curlers take angles into account, allowing for a beautiful lash curl, minus any pinching.  Hallelujah!

I have been meaning to post about this for ages – a recent post from ReallyRee reminded me that I needed to share (albeit in a horribly delayed fashion!)

Feline Humor – Out To Get Me

I never met a black cat I didn’t like. Most of the time, I think mine – let me say, those for whom I am a guardian, not an “owner” – generally like me too.

But every so often I catch them in an admittedly unnerving, blink-less glare…

Not always a comforting one either. . .

Ummmm….

Waking up in the night to that look is even more alarming – I mean, how can you NOT feel suspicious?!

More Feline Fun!

Backstage – Dior Colour Filters

Dior has a ton of products masquerading in this package, one of which is my favorite balm in the world.  And generally, these snappy, back-knobbed sticks show up during the runway shows, sneaking their way into the backstage photos while models get prepped to show off the new collection (clothing and cosmetics alike!)

These two new “Fix It” products, available August 1st, come in four shades, all designed to mask imperfections and unwanted tones:

  • Apricot (great for dark circles)
  • Yellow (can tone down ruddiness, as well as help with circles)
  • Blue (good for sallowness or overly-orange that needs to be evened, as well as adding radiance)
  • Green (tones down redness)

The color portion of this 2-in-1 tool wraps around a “soft focus” core that supposedly helps to diffuse lines and creases (tons of blurring products out there, so no surprise.)  The great news is that for BritishBeautyBlogger, this actually didn’t settle into lines, so it delivered what it claims it will.  She also felt it was nicely pigmented (which you can see in her swatches – I was impressed with the color payoff also given the ratio of core to color.)

These are meant to be used as a primer for the eyes, lips, and the face, so feel free to play around!

Summer 2016 – MAC Collections

There are a whole bunch of Summer Collections coming out from MAC, all of which several bloggers have announced in the last few weeks – sharing Temptalia’s thorough posts below.

Tendertalk pairs color with technology, for a personalized hue all your own.  I love that, as it reminds me of my favorite (Dior) balm.

“Awaken to a sweet new sensation: Tendertalk Lip Balm, a smart lip conditioner that creates a personalized tint based on your chemistry. Combining nourishing skincare and technology, this perfect lip transformer helps keep lips soft and moisturized while intuitively offering the right hint of color.”

Summer 2016 – Estee Lauder Genuine Glow

More glow-getters on the horizon, this time from cosmetic giant, Estee Lauder.  Genuine Glow Summer 2016 Collection includes five super-star, radiance-delivering products:

What I love about these products is that they are ageless – they can work beautifully for someone in their 20’s as much as someone in her 50’s – they are designed to give a natural illumination to the complexion with subtle, flushed color.

There’s no over-doing here, no mask-like finish, or real ability to be too heavy-handed in the first place.  Hallelujah!

In my own mind the goal of any color cosmetic (shy of ballroom / skating / theater performance (etc) OR your wedding (mine’s soon! ❤ ) / night out (etc)) is to enhance.  Not hide.

Yes, you ARE gorgeous enough to go without makeup!  But for days when you might need an extra boost – just enough to give your bright eyes the spotlight (as opposed to sleepless undeyes or lackluster skin!) – these hydrating, priming, and brightening products can help.

Chicprofile shares more details here (haven’t seen all online as yet, but those with links are above. 🙂 )

Fall 2016 / 2017 – MAC Trend Forecast

Usually I see these post to MAC early on…but I appreciate that ReallyRee beat everyone else to the punch, sharing images and swatches of the up-and-coming Autumn Palettes.

I LOVE the colors in these, finding them to be incredibly wearable overall.  The less obvious, less (perhaps) everyday shades are still in hues that can be worn both with major impact…or in a more subtle way – so all around, they offer a wonderful selection to choose from to create a wintery flush, or something more dramatic.

It isn’t fair of me to share all of ReallyRee’s swatches, so please click her link above to see all of her fabulous photos! Really gorgeous, if you ask me.

One palette is designed for the eye, the other for the lips…but I personally think these can be used for lips, eyes AND cheeks, pretty interchangeably…  They last well and apparently don’t crease – hallelujah.  So really whatever you feel like doing with them works! 🙂  You can mix, or use stand-alone – as always, MAC delivers something divine.
