Spring / Summer 2016 – Chanel Le Blanc

Thanks to iVoce for the images of this up and coming Chanel Collection!  It will be launching in Japan on February 19, 2016, in Asia during February…and will be coming to the USA for Nordstrom in Summer 2016.

While I don’t have names of everything specifically, the Collection will include:

  • Chanel Perle et Fantasy Compact Powder (the pink and white pearl embossed powder)
  • Chanel Le Blanc Quattro Eyeshadow Palette
  • Lip glosses (these look bright and fun!)
  • Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick (in “intense” shades)
  • Cream blush (looks like a medium bright pink)
  • Chanel Le Blanc L’Extrait (20 ml – a whitening skincare product with a pearlescent shine)
  • Coco Mademoiselle Touche de Parfum (released March 18, 2016.  The product is a concentrated gel formulation and housed in a lip gloss-like container for easier application.)
  • Looks like a few other items as well…eager to update…!

The pearlized powered looks divine…and anything that whitens and brightens is awesome in my book! ❤

Starry Starry Night, Mattefied

Starry Starry Night is one of Essie’s limited edition Retro Revival 2016 shades, coming back 35 years after Essie Weingarten first laughed her nail polishes.  Starry Starry Night is one of six other shades, including:

  1. Life Of The Party – 2002 Pearlescent burgundy
  2. Sequin Sash – 2005 Sheer bronze
  3. Cabana Boy – 2005 Silvery white
  4. Bikini With a Martini – 2006 Frosty pink
  5. Birthday Suit – 1981 Soft nude

Given it’s incredible opacity and multi-faceted glimmer, the 1985 release became a best seller all way through 1998 when it was discontinued.  Turns out that must have been a smart marketing move, since one bottle was sold on eBay for $250 a year ago in 2014!  (That’s a  nice $240 jump from its original price tag, ps.)

Janine Falcon plays with a matte topcoat here to change up the texture for fun!

Traditionally it is a flash of cosmic gloss!

Ciel Du Nuit, Chanel’s 1998 shade, was my persona favorite…and, noting the discontinuation of the above, it turns out it launched at a fortuitous time!

Spring 2016 – Chanel

A few sites have shared more details about Chanel’s Spring / Summer 2016 /2017 Collection…and we all know that Chanel has quite the influence with trends in the beauty category!  (Anyone remember the surge of mint polish some years ago!?)

I love the ad image expressly because the pairing of indigo, purple and koolaid red is dynamite!!!  Perfect on the sky blue backdrop – simple, in part tonal, with a bold pop.

The fashion show was bursting with color, also, while a sheer denim blue was most predominant for the girls’ gazes…

Le Vernis Nail Gloss in 684 Sunrise Trip is a stunning purple indigo – it’s edgy, but there’s something sophisticated about it.  I feel like even if I saw this on someone without knowing the brand (or how much it cost!), I’d say it was incredibly chic (as opposed to “too much.”)  It’s wearable, and inoffensive.

The Illusion d’Ombre shadows come in three shades – Moonlight Pink, Ocean Light and Griffith Green.  They’re heavier for Spring colors, I’d agree, but I don’t feel like they too Autumnal or anything.  They have a more serious, eco tone, I feel like.  The rose gold is lovely!

Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quad in Beverly Hills definitely has the flavor of what we saw on the runway – not just on the ladies’ eyes, but also in the clothing.  The colors feel nautical and sophisticated with a bolt of turquoise thrown in for edge.

Then there is the Sunkiss Ribbon face palette…a wonderful mix of hot shades, nude pink and bronze.  I’d love to see a swirled swatch of this to see what comes across most strongly – it’s certainly lovely to look at!

The lippies, Rouge Coco Shine, come in three luscious shades: Shipshape, Mighty and Energy.  These remind me of spring berries, or punchy popsicles – love the colors.

There are few other items to round out the collection – I feel like it has a nice balance of cool and hot here, blending blues with vibrant pinks and red.  I am curious to see the spinoffs that surface in response to these!

Christmas / Holiday 2015 – Chanel Rouge Noir Absolument

Chanel Rouge Noir Absolument is, I have to say, pretty spectacular.  It’s vampy and glam at the same time… ❤  Oh, la la!

A bunch of ladies have posted their own swatches online…which I always love to see.  Thank you to all who shared!

Bobbi Greige

At first, I’ll admit it, I saw “Greige” and I thought…”ugh.”

I know, I know…but Greige just sounds frumpy!  I love grey hues, and I think nudes are gorgeous…but I’ve always had a tough time with the offspring of the two!

Grey-toned, or full-on grey nails, for example, never totally looked right to me (coming from a girl who died to have Chanel’s navy-and-silver-sparkle “Ciel De Nuit” on her nails in college! OR…yes, I did, green glitter! *LOL*)

Bobbi certainly has polishes, but I can’t say why my mind went directly there. Sure enough, the ad featured grey-ish nails…

BUT…I was very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful hues Bobbi is offering with this Collection.  Truth is, I LOVE Bobbie Brown – I always thought her ads we particularly stunning.  There was something natural but polished about the looks that always struck me…kind of the same way Ralph Lauren’s windows…which I am ever oohing and aahing over!

I think paring the two pictured polishes would be stunning – like a degrade, or design with one on the other?

The shadow palette will deliver a sultry gaze without having to dip into black or ultra-sooty shades

And how delicious are the liner trios?!  Midnight, Black Plum…who can decide?!

Way to go Bobbi – as always, your colors are amazing.

Chanel A/W 2015 – Les Automnales

Chanel Les Automnales Fall 2015 (launching in August 2015) made its debut on models for the February runway shows.  It is indeed fit for the Fall season, featuring rich, luxurious colors, perfectly in line with the burnished colors of autumnal months (for those of us in the Northeast of the Unites States, this holds incredibly true – it evokes images of leaves towards the end of their color changes, wooded landscapes, cool nights, and bonfires.  Delicious!)

Chanel Les Automnales Fall 2015 cosmodream

A number of bloggers have shared various images and comments, such as Britishbeautyblogger, BeautyLabs (RU), and Kosmetista, while additional backstage runway shots can be found on fashion sites (such as style.com.)

I love that the Collection product images (many are not specifically attributed, so please do share if you know whose they are! I am guessing they are originally Chanel’s!) pair the product photo with leaves, feathers, and other natural objects, each representative of the colors of the season.

You really can’t go wrong with peachy cheeks, nude or red lips, browns for the eye, and burgundy nails…  I mean, honestly…you can’t.  So Chanel has got you covered from September through the end of November…at least! 😉
