Rimmel In-Shower Tan

When Spring arrives, so do all the new tanning products generally – I’ve definitely seen them taking a front seat in stores lately, but I haven’t seen this in-store quite yet.  You can, however, get it at Boots online (link with the photo.)

Rimmel’s In-Shower Tan is taking a nod from a few other high-end tanner brands, who offer something akin to the in-shower moisturizers of the last year or two.  The idea is that you can apply while taking a shower, only to be left with a several-day bronze glow…and a few more minutes in the day (since you could do this during your usual routine.)

The Rimmel product is a “1 minute express” lotion designed to deliver a sunkissed glow within just a few hours. It’s streak-free, faux-tan-scent-free (that’s always nice!) and buildable.

The reviews didn’t look stellar, but I came across ReallyRee’s thoughts on the rinse-off and she seemed to enjoy it.  And anyway, it IS safer than baking too long in the sun!

L’Oreal Cushion Glow!

The number of brands joining the cushion party is astounding…although I can’t say surprising!  I’ve written countless posts about the influence of Asian skincare (here, here, here, aaaand here, as a few examples) and color cosmetics, and the trend(s) just keep forging ahead.

L’Oreal is taking a step beyond just foundations and color correction (two areas that are becoming increasingly more saturated.)  Their Instagram page showed a sneak peak of six sassy, Spring-infused blush shades, suggesting that they will be rolling out worldwide shortly:

  • P1 Pink Fantasy
  • P2 Pink Romance
  • P3 Rose Affair
  • C1 Sunkissed Coral
  • C2 Sunset Coral
  • F1 Fuchsia Flush

The word is that they are less creamy than they are “watery,” but I think with any cushion product, you do get a lighter, sheerer texture in general.  For me, that’s a nice thing because I don’t like to be heavy-handed – buildable is always a nice thing, as with such control, you can fully create the intensity you are looking for.  It’s nice to have a natural, lit-from-within glow…isn’t it?

Spring 2016 – Stila

Stila is expanding its Aqua Glow lineup this Spring with a Serum Foundation and Serum Concealer, falling very much in line with the liquid, dropper bottle trend.

The Foundation is a lightweight, moisturizing formula, offering weightless, radiant coverage.  The ionized water-base paired with hyaluronic acid, helps to “instantly blur, hydrate and perfect the look of skin with buildable to full coverage.”   “A generation of highly refractive, multi-reflective color pigments use light to” additionally smooth the surface of the skin, reducing all those imperfections we want to conceal!

The Concealer, also ionized water-based, offers a buildable, lightweight, and semi-matte coverage that conceals all of your pesky circles and blemishes.  The difference here is that it is more liquid in texture, a departure from traditionally creamy formulations.

And, for a fun Spring touch, Stila is also delivering two new Convertible Color Palettes – Sunrise Serenade and Sunrise Splendor.  The Convertibles are amazing, and so easy to use on the fly.

Sunrise Serenade:

  • Petunia (warm pink)
  • Peach blossom (warm peach)
  • Gerbera (peachy nude)
  • Camellia (warm beige)
  • Twilight Rose (deep rose)

Tarte BB Full Coverage Concealer

A new full coverage concealer from Tarte, and a BB to boot! (I personally love BBs as they target several things at once – they aren’t for everyone, but if you do like the idea, check it out!)

You can find this smooth, good-for-you (and your skin!) newbie on QVC for $29.00 – it includes a concealer brush, which I love about other Tarte concealers in the past.

According to Tarte:

Why is it different:

This multitasking BB concealer offers full, buildable coverage to address the appearance of imperfections. The custom delivery system dispenses the ideal amount of velvety concealer that can be applied directly to problem areas on the face, such as under the eyes or areas in need of spot treatment for targeted coverage…
